		<content type="html">&lt;A href="http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/02/070228-mars-warming.html"&gt;http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/02/070228-mars-warming.html&lt;/A&gt; &lt;BR&gt; &lt;BR&gt;This is a discussion of the fluctuations of the Mars Polar Ice cap.&amp;nbsp; The sun could be causing some of it.&amp;nbsp; Changes in the obliquity and precession of Mars' rotational axis could also be the cause.&amp;nbsp; The Russian scientist who proposes that the sun is the cause makes a prediction that the Earth will begin cooling significantly in the next two decades because he predicts that the sun's output will be decreasing--thus we will have a chance to evaluate his predictions in the near future.&lt;BR&gt; &lt;BR&gt;Though they may have been tongue-in-cheek, your thoughts on the actions needed to begin to approach true long-term sustainability are all valid.&amp;nbsp; Very few, if any, of our current technology can be sustained to the seventh generation of our descendents unless the population is somehow reduced so much that the planet can fully recover from the insults in real time.</content>

		<content type="html">Well, you probably can start saving the earth by not using electricity - but then your site not be able to exist. Neither your alarm clock, be it battery operated or electronic. Nor your fridge. or the shop's fridges and freezers. You need to finish all your chores by sunset, because burning candles or parafin, or using electric lights, add to air pollution. Get rid of the flushing toilet, dig a hole in the back yard, you pollute water drastically every time you flush. And those chemicals added to "purify" the water, are also unnatural. Walk where you want to go, bicycles are forged with fire, which pollutes the air and adds to global warming, wooden bicycles mean another poor tree had to die for some guy or gal's enjoyment.&lt;BR&gt; &lt;BR&gt;Seriously, when are you greenies gonna wake up and smell the sunspots? Mars' polar caps are vanishing. Know of any SUV's riding around there?</content>
